Socius is a new restaurant opening in Burnham Market late February 2018.The Socius ethos is simple: to create a memorable food and drink experience in a completely relaxed environment. Chef Director Dan Lawrence has developed a menu of small plates - as a modern British take on tapas. Our food focuses on locally sourced produce, with dishes changing to reflect the seasons. Our team are at the core of our business and we are passionate about hiring the most enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to become part of our family. Our Commis Chef/Chef De Partie will be expected to have a passion for food and the willingness and motivation to learn new skills. You must be energetic and enthusiastic with a real passion for the culinary industry, constantly striving to be better than yesterday.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Complying with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Dealing with deliveries and stock rotation
- Assistance with health and safety documentation
- Preparing foods and working under senior chef’s guidance
- Maintaining the highest level of food quality and production with the aim of consistently exceeding our guest’s expectations.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers.
- Enthusiasm to learn about all areas of the kitchen
- Maintains cleanliness and upkeep of kitchen and equipment at all times
Skills & Abilities
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen preferred but not always essential
- Polished and professional approach to work
- Great communication skills
- Willingness to learn and absorb information
- Enthusiastic team player
- Ability to work under pressure
- High standards of cleanliness and hygiene
