Building Work Begins…

After what seems like a lifetime of waiting, we are so excited to finally talk to you about the build of our restaurant!

We finally picked up the keys at the start of December and the real hard work began. Dan began his first challenging task of the build - vinylling the windows. Those of you that know Dan will know that his DIY skills aren't much to be admired (!) but amazingly he pulled it off (with help from the amazing James, Chloe & Jack - a million thank you's!)

The building work began on 3rd January and has come on leaps and bounds ever since. It's so exciting seeing our ideas transform into reality and seeing the restaurant take shape and we can't wait to share it with you.

This week, we were actually able to stand on our new mezzanine floor - which nearly ended in disaster when Natalie forgot how to climb down a ladder!

Keep an eye on our social media for continued updates. We will be releasing our booking system on 1st February so watch this space for updates, Mother's Day plans and Nelson's Journey charity events, as well as our sample menus and drinks list. So much excitement to come!

  1. We can’t wait to visit, it looks amazing — we wondered though where are all the local fish? Shrimps, Crabs, Dover Sole, Sea Bass from up the coast – it is great that there are mussels but there are plenty of other local fish that you can use. Salmon, lemon sole and hake are not local to Norfolk and it seems a shame not to use what is on the doorstep. Also could you please confirm your GF policy?
    Many thanks

    1. Hello Tom!
Thanks so much for your comment! The menus on our website are just a sample for the website so that people get an understanding of what we do. Our menu changes daily and is tailored around what our local fishmonger and butchers have each day. We use as much local produce as we can get our hands on! Our fishmonger and butcher are both on our doorstep in Burnham Market and supply an abundance of locally sourced produce. With regards to your question regarding gluten free, the majority of our dishes can be made gluten free – it would be great if you could make us aware prior to coming so that we can prepare a gluten free menu for you. We look forward to seeing you!
